  • A small gift for the upcoming Baybayin support in TheoTown.

    CONTENT:
    * This plugin contains Baybayin Monument, and (non-rotational) Baybayin characters deco.
    * It has its own category under Public > Decorations > Baybayin
    * Each letter features Filipino word on their description.

    WHAT IS BAYBAYIN?
The word Baybayin is a Tagalog term that refers to all the letters used in writing a language, that is to say, an “alphabet” – although, to be more precise, the baybayin is more like a syllabary. It is from the root baybáy meaning, “spell.” This name for the old Filipino script appeared in one of the earliest Philippine language dictionaries ever published, the Vocabulario de Lengua Tagala of 1613. Early Spanish accounts usually called the baybayin “Tagalog letters” or “Tagalog writing.” And the Visayans called it “Moro writing” because it was imported from Manila, which was one of the ports where many products from Muslim traders entered what are now known as the Philippine islands. The Bikolanos called the script basahan and the letters, guhit.

The information revolution has allowed Filipinos to learn more about the precolonial era on the Internet than was ever taught in Philippine schools. As a result many Filipinos are taking a new interest in their own heritage and it is usually the baybayin that catches their attention first. Through the use of computer fonts, the baybayin is now being used in graphic designs for web sites, multimedia art, jewellery, T-shirts, and logos. And for some Pinoys, it seems that the path has come full circle. Whereas long ago the Visayan pintados were tattooed according to their status in the community, today a growing number of young Filipinos are getting tattooed with baybayin characters to show their pride in their heritage.

    This is HaRa-1 (Blue Line)

Modern monorails are based on a single solid beam that supports and guides the train; the carriages sit on top of the track. The straddle-beam design is the most widely used.

Nandito na ang "Hari ng Kalsada"!
Now with Light Animations for Night!

When the Americans left the Philippines, it was just cheaper for them to leave these military vehicles behind. The creative Filipino people modified these vehicles by extending the frame, added an opposing benches, and a cab over.

The Philippines' most popular iconic cultural symbol and the most common form of public transportation.
It resembles our culture, ingenuity, and resilience.

  • Kumusta! Mabuhay!
'Nya munta quita na maga colores vinta.
    From Ciudad Latina de Asia

Vintas are traditional boats originating from Mindanao, Philippines. The Bajao and Moros of Sulu and Zamboanga created these boats. They were made from dug-out canoes and installed with double outriggers. Bajao and people from Basilan and Tawi-tawi were known as great swimmers and people with great knowledge of the sea and oceans.

It's locally known as "Lepa-lepa" or "Sakayan", and is used to transport goods and travelers for inter-island trips. The most remarkable traits of these boats are the colorful patterns of its sails. The Vinta basically signifies the general evolution of Sulu towards peace, progress and development.

It is a representation of Zamboanga’s history and culture, and it is also one of the symbols that represent the Philippines as it signifies migration and the colorful traditions of the country.
