It's called fancy because it's computation is fancy. Instead of 1 texture lookup it needs 5 (or even 9 for X-fancy). Texture lookups are expensive and I have no idea how to improve performance there. We actually just solved a bug with traffic lights. They weren't updated if they were not in users view and therefore leaded to a lot of traffic jams. After the bug fix traffic runs so smooth that we had to increase overall car spawn amount :)

Probably. How big is you city and do you have busses and/or trains? Did it really start lagging with the very last update (218)?

We just increased car amount by 600%. This worked well in some testing. If it leads to problems in your city please give us some feedback :)

Yes, since we fixed a bug where traffic lights out of sight weren't updated, the amount of cars has been reduced dramatically. We can easily fix that by spawning more cars, but we have to do some more testing first, otherwise pathfinding calculations could be too expensive.

Thank you for reporting, planting trees didn't add influences, but removing did remove them. I hoped such bugs wouldn't be present anymore. 217 will fix it :roll:

Maybe a building burnt down nearby. By choosing pollution or noise view you might be able to spot the source of the bad influences. If it's a bug you may send us the city to info[at]theotown.de so we can do some testing with it :roll:

I agree, something went wrong here... I assume the reason is that you have not enabled experimental features. If that's the case version 215 should solve the issue :roll:
