I like the new interface but what are the diamonds useful for ?

In my opinion diamonds are not useful at all.
"Improvements" like this destroy the classical gameplay of TheoTown.

I have a feeling its going go to down the Sim City Build It route and turn freemium.

Ok so they did not announce it but I found it randomly on the comments of one of their facebook posts
Diamonds will be used to buy the addons for no REAL money...

The IAPs don't really bother me that is ok and i'll actually just buy them
But paying to get money, watching adds to change speed and now this ?!
But if they make a good way to earn diamonds and not paying or watchings adds then ok

Soo... since they're out now does that mean IAPs are coming out soon...
