Oh :( I would rather get a one time purchase game instead of playing in-app purchase game. I don't care whether it costs 50usd or more. That's why I went to Theotown :( I am so disappointed theotown decided to go in-app purchase :(

I spent so much time on Theotown, recommend to friends and check update every morning. I thought Theotown is different from other in app purchase game. Now I know... :(

The concept of In-App-Purchase just means, that you can buy something within the game. I think there are some games which lead to a negative association with this word.

In the context of TheoTown, we do not plan to make such purchases mandatory to have a good game. Instead, we want to offer addons so you can select for yourself what you really want to have in the game. These addons won't expire so in the end of the day, there's not really a difference between premium and IAPs.

The difference for us developers is, that we can get money for the features we add instead of getting money one time and then losing motivation to add any further stuff as we won't get charged for it.

Exactly, we want to make more than a hobby out of this game, and therefore we also have to earn money with it. The income from ads alone really isn't that high.

We will of course regularly add buildings to the basic game (free, without further costs).

In the next few weeks (perhaps months) I will work mostly for the InApp-Purchases.
I have a looong ToDo list with buildings to draw :wink:

Hey at least its not EA who is making theotown because then it will become a pay to play game.

See the thing is imho is that EA and other big devs are all about money and flowersoft(i think thats you guys) are not here for all our money, thats why at present this is the only city builder i know of that is like the classic simcity where you don't have to pay or have to wait on stuff to build or use resources etc.

IAP's for TT is so you can expand on the game with new buildings etc similar to like Forza for xbox one where you can buy car packs to extend the game, the difference with TT tho compared to other city building games these are optional and we don't have to buy, tho if you take simcity for example you really do need to spend money or your city will be half full in about forever.

So having IAP's is better than having premium then you can choose what you want in your game and your showing your support to the lobby and theo for making the best city building game on android :)

About tourism, you should consider a casino, think of Las Vegas :)

I saw a casino in the commercials, the level $$$ ones, so I don't think it's a type of tourism categorised buildings/landmarks

Mayor, Do not do it, please. Make a premium version then... It's better to split the game this way. So at least we paid for the fair price and not ''dlc/expansion versions''.

Lobby said that it's better to do the IAP because that'll earn money more, and that money is going to use for paying gaming programs and things related to that. But of course, the price wouldn't be so high and the game is still free, unlike many other games which are using the Pay-To-Win way to earn money

Will more plug in be added to the game when there's ones are finished and will the IAP that unlocks all of the plug ins include any new ones too?

Btw can we just call the IAP that unlocks all of the IAP's the Premium Pass?

I was writing this message for like 15 minutes...
But, if you think positively, the money would be used to buy more softwares for developing and improving the game, which gives more features, and that'll attract more people.

We should think positively about this matter.

That is not nice to write something like that :cry:

The game has been in PlayStore since spring 2015 and has always been completely free of charge. These are two years where you did not have to pay anything for TheoTown.
If it had only been for the money, TheoTown would have cost money from the beginning.

We have put hundreds of working hours into this game .... do not forget.
You do not have to buy the inapp purchases. Nobody forces you to buy something. TheoTown will continue to be playable for free, even without buying inapp purchases.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to offer a game over a period of more than two years always totally free.

For example...the webserver on which the forum is located and on which you can show your screenshots costs 18 euros a month. The graphic tablet which I use cost 250 euros. An ergnomische mouse was needed while spending so many hours with the graphics program. It was also not cheap.

I love TheoTown and I would also like many people to have fun with it.
But in the long run we can not work on it without having any income.
The advertising in the game unfortunately brought as good as nothing.
The box label said, "Requires Windows 10 or better.", so I bought an Amiga Computer.

About the ads covering something - That has to be a bug, the ads shouldn't cover anything. The preserve edges feature was introduced to serve specific devices with edge screens where tapping near edges is difficult (early edge models by Samsung for example). It was an explicit user wish and has nothing to do with ads.

About the buy buttons, I actually plan to make some of them hideable. But for income it seems to be crucial to show them if user doesn't state otherwise. Yes, money is important when you have to earn it for yourself.

I'll buy when all be compited. I already dicided. You may not - that's your dicision. You may think the game will be worse. That's your opinion i totally disagree with it.
