Untouchable zone tool

It would be nice if we could zone areas as "untouchable" instead of doing it manually for each building. Cities Skylines has this feature as a policy for districts, it's called "Historical area". This would make it easier to preserve old areas instead of having it all replaced by tall buildings.

I used to have a small suburban neighbourhood here until it became filled with these tall buildings which hide all my decorations...

you know if you go into the zone menu you can place zoned buildings you select a zone type and select what level of zoned buildings you want to place just thought

Yes, but it takes a loooong time to do and isn't very realistic in normal game modes. I prefer the normal zone tool. Except it creates ugly tall buildings after a while.

He just wants to make buildings untouchable quickly. You could do this in lua, pretty sure it's possible.

There is a setting in the settings to make buildings you build untouchable automatically.
