Nah, it's not. Believe me, BBCode is the world easiest code you've ever used, and HTML or CSS is way more harder than you thought, but still easy after practicing and learn a code principle work, so as BBC.

If you wanna attach an image to your topic, you can use «Full Editor & Preview» button and find «attachments» button to choose your file to attach and that's all. You can experimenting with your topic and see all functions principle (I personally goes that way with all of a code types).
