Game Suggestion: Advanced Logistics, Infrastructure Maintenance & Traffic Control

#1

Post by Citybild »

Dear TheoTown Development Team,

I would like to share a few gameplay suggestions that could make the late-game ("Megapolis" stage) much more engaging without making the early game overly complicated for new players.

1. Priority Road Signs (Give Way / Main Road)
* Add an option to click on intersections and place "Give Way" (Yield) or "Main Road" (Priority) signs.
* This would give specific roads right-of-way, helping players manage complex junctions and smooth out heavy traffic flows without completely redesigning intersections.

2. Regional Trade & Specialized Freight (Beyond Utilities)
* Expand region-wide trade beyond just electricity, water, and garbage disposal.
* Allow regions to exchange actual goods and products (e.g., supplying manufactured vehicles/cars between neighbor cities).

3. Making Railway Transport More Impactful
* Rebalance rail transportation so that cargo trains significantly reduce highway truck traffic and act as a vital link for heavy freight, matching their higher capacity.

4. Resource Mining & Extraction Systems
* Introduce raw resource extraction (e.g., coal mining).
* Locally mined coal could reduce operating costs for Coal Power Plants or be exported/supplied to other cities in the region.

5. Building Wear & Maintenance (Infrastructure Degradation)
* Add a gradual wear-and-tear mechanic for utility structures (e.g., water towers, power facilities).
* Buildings would require periodic servicing or maintenance crews to keep running at full efficiency, preventing late-game infrastructure from running entirely on "autopilot."

6. Basic Production Chains
* Introduce simple supply chains linking raw resources, manufacturing, and distribution:
Mine / Raw Material -> Processing Plant / Factory -> Final Product (e.g., Cars) -> Regional Export / Commercial Sales

Summary:
These features would make the late-game economy and traffic management feel rewarding and strategic, keeping players hooked well after reaching the Megapolis rank.

Thank you for your time and for continuing to support and improve such a great game!
