Tropical Cyclones, Hurricanes
They will move across large bodies of water and grow from tropical depression, to large category 5 hurricanes (if was long growing above water) because they will weak on ground

So about behaviour:
Move across large bodies of water rivers, lakes, oceans ect
Weak and landfall if on ground, grow if on water
When moving across water has chance to turn and do landfall
In landfall period water level rises, buildings moves, breaks, people will panic, lightning will start striking

You can literally make that with "earthquake" & "tornado" disasters
