beautiful looking cities
Whenever I try to build a big city, it turns out to be a boring creation consisting of only roads, buildings and occasional parks built to increase the park happiness of the society. So, what should I do to create an orderly and peaceful city with a beautiful and aesthetic appearance?

Re: beautiful looking cities
Do not use zones, try placing the buildings manually instead.
Then if you want a European style city, I recommend erionit's and Logwyn's plugins

Re: beautiful looking cities
Hi there,
Frankly, I understand your problem. Me too, my cities often end up looking like concrete blocks with boring roads. One thing that has helped me is to mix architectural styles and play with green spaces. For example, instead of simple parks, try community gardens, small squares with fountains, or even neighborhoods with specific themes. And don't just focus on aesthetics, think about functionality and the daily lives of residents.
Oh, and to organize all this without getting in over your head, you could take a look at some online tools that help with better planning and structuring. There's some great stuff out there to help you manage infrastructure and make your city more vibrant.

Re: beautiful looking cities
New to the forum, but yeah. I've found having to place every building like in Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic, is the only way to make the cities you see in the screenshots. Its like SC4- all the best cities are made by people who somehow can sink 14-24 hours into a city at a time and not feel any burnout.
If it makes ya feel better, I just roleplay comrade-city-planner and wait till the whole place is full of look-alike-"commie-blocks". Miss me with that actual effort stuff, im stuffing 100k people into 3 square miles.
