add war to the game

there will be an option to turn on war in your settings when making a singleplayer world (but also an option to turn off ai aggression) or if you're the owner of a multiplayer world, and you can turn it on or off at any time to create more interesting scenarios.. in the case of single player if you have already built several cities with their own militaries they can go to war with eachother by themselves or if you turned off ai aggression then you're the one who goes to war, when this happens both cities will fire missiles at eachother and send their armies into eachother but the ai would have a scale on how aggressive it will be with its weapons depending on how much they're losing, like if they've almost lost the war they can launch a missile but you can also launch a missile to destroy that missile before it lands in your city. When the war is over and one side has won there will peace terms which will either be (1. absorb enemy city, 2. vassalize enemy city [you collect 50% of money and it is technically apart of your domain but the person who owned it will still own it], 3. seize electricity [take 50% of enemy's electricty for next 10 years] 4. seize water [take 50% of enemy's water for next 10 years], and an extra term which might not be realistic to add, taking parts of your enemy's city like taking the small plot sizes out of your medium sized enemy's city and absorbing it into yours.) After the war is over the city's population will begin rioting for independence some time after the war if you absorbed it.. if over 60% of the city riots then they will become independent, these riots will only happen if you do not make repairs on most of the damages you did and keep happiness above 70% for 5 years in a row, if you do then the riots will subside but if you begin losing another war they may come back, and also the person who had their city vassalized can declare a war of independence if they want to.. i feel like this could make more interesting multiplayer servers and make diplomacy and militaries interesting :D :twisted:

This has been suggested so many times since 2019 when online was added.
The answer is, was and will always be NO

I understand that people want action and other events in the game. But why does such a construction game need a war? I don't see any point in making a strategy out of an urban planner.

I don't think it's a good idea to add war to a construction game, it's meaningless and will cause a significant change in the game's nature, I think many players including myself can't accept it.

If it's fun, it would surely be about politics between you and your friends.
What would happen if two cities had conflicting interests?
It might start with raising import taxes and end with a nuclear strike.
This could lead to fear of neighboring cities and the formation of alliances.
I think it’s good to have this option — whoever wants it can just select it.

Especially with current political events that they will NOT add war. Oh and also, please \(stylize\) and format your text. this is completely unreadable. No punctuation too.

tbf a war system would be TERRIBLE, doesnt matter plugin or in-game. especially its bad for theotown
bc it is a city construction game not battlefield sorta game

War mechanics seem to much to theotown, we could just have more fantastic events like more alien invasions, monsters like giant robots or kaijus just for fun, so having a military could be helpful.
The rockets just will fire to the ufo or monster.
Or maybe a zombie outbreak just like rioters, we have to send a special convoy to the location and thats it.

But a war between players seems too overcomplicated.

Nah, it's a bad idea actually. Really, TheoTown is a city builder sim when you can realise all of your creative potential with mods support and last thing that all of would think is a war mechanics. Just why? If you wanna see a war just spawn air bomber, UFO or Pickle and see how your citizens die in action that ruin your progress and your bravest dreams.

That game is not about potential war and its impossible to do. For that you have role play, that's all and no one needs for more.

Why do people keep suggesting this...you guys have been asking for war since 2018, and the answer will always be: NO! Cope, mald, seeth, cry, just get over it and suggest something worthwile or better yet, go play a war game that will better suit your interests. This is a city simulator, and all it will ever be.

Please do not. I don't understand some people's obsession of turning everything into a war or country roleplay thing. TheoTown is a city buildier and not focused on war. If you want war go and buy Hearts of Iron.
