How to install
Download the .plugin, .ttplugin or .zip file and move it into the plugins folder of your TheoTown game folder:
  • Android - The game folder is located at Android/data/info.flowersoft.theotown.theotown/files which can also be accessed on the device itself by using Google's file explorer
  • iOS - The game folder is accessible as a virtual folder called "TheoTown" via iTunes after connecting the device. On the device itself you can use the Files app to access that virtual folder.
  • Desktop - The game data is stored in /Users/YourUsername/TheoTown
Another way is to navigate to the region view in the game->open game menu->File manager->plugins where you can import plugins manually by using the import function. After making changes you have to restart the game to see an effect.

Be careful with installing plugins manually. See this notice on the potential dangers of installing untrusted plugins.

Coffee Galore (Final (brief) Update!)

#1

Post by ThaineXylon »

Who wants some caffeine to run your town?
Don't worry, I added the "draw ground" attribute after this...

Hello again, fellow users! I have made another plugin that is a very costly set of water towers... Replaced with huge cups of coffee.
...Like I said last post, I wanted to make absurd-looking plugins into Theotown. Like that hamster power plant by nnkkoooo (Plugin #4551 btw)

What's in this plugin?
In this plugin, you have two different vessels of coffee. One is the cup shape, whereas the other is the big mug. The cup has 9 colors and occupies a 3*3 grid. Whereas the cylindrical mugs occupy a 2*2 grid, but they only come in black and white.

For 5000₮ to build, a cup will provide at least 1250 liters of "coffee" but with a monthly cost of 5000₮ because... Well, it really costs a whole lot to maintain brewing a steady stream of hot coffee (or cocoa, you imagine) for an entire town.
Yeah, that costs a lot to pump water... Or should I say... Coffee? Cocoa?
Yeah, that costs a lot to pump water... Or should I say... Coffee? Cocoa?
Just showing the water outline to show you that it works.
Just showing the water outline to show you that it works.
So, yeah... It's supposed to be such a jokingly impractical water tower.

Future Plans
1. I'd like to add animations, such as the coffee inside the cup swirling, some steam coming out... But I still haven't figured out the animation part. (Added it on Feb 22, 2026... And yep, I figured out how to implement my own animations!)
2. I'd like to add a spilled cup of coffee as a decoration... Or as a landmark piece. (Finally, I added it!)
3. Maybe expand on more designs like polka dots? If I have the time, that is.
4. Change the values to cost less on the build, and definitely add a requirement level.

Behind the Scenes
- Originally, I was going to draw a very thematic ramen restaurant that has a whole bowl of ramen as the building. But after drawing the cup... I decided to go for a cup of coffee instead.
Screenshot 2026-02-06 135050.png
- The cup was manually drawn (apart from changing the colors) to the details and some tweaking... As far as Photopea goes.
- The mug was drawn simply with a slow stroke of an ellipse-shaped pen tool, added some shading effects using the "Blending Options..." And I still have to tweak around the other settings and the handles as well.
Screenshot 2026-02-06 135030.png
- Speaking of handles, there are actually two handles drawn... I just obscure the other one just as I'm about to export the left and right sides.
- Also, when I exported it to my game... I didn't realize that the cup was set in a 3 by 3, but I used a 2 by 2 instead... (Actually, I forgot to reconfigure the two vessels to their correct grids and shipped them out of the Plugin Creation as 1.)
- Here's also the whole .json for it:

Like I said, I wanted to make absurd plugins. Absurd stuff that you can put in your city, as much as possible.

Speaking of which... Would this be okay to submit it through the plugin store?

Oh my God, whole town is in big danger of heart attacks, insomnia and mental problems. This doze of coffee for any type of city is too big. Humanity dies not because of ecological problems, scale crisis or nuclear wars, but because of some mayor decide to put giant cup of coffee in his town. Like big fan of coffee, if I see that IRL I'm just shot myself and Immerse yourself in eternity, just because I can't handle it, it's too much for me.

Yikes, that's a bit too much for everyone. That definitely would suck.

Maybe I should consider making other forms of these liquid towers... A can of soda, a big wooden keg of beer, or even a big glass of water perhaps?

...On another note, thanks for responding to my absurd plug-in, Russishgao and Sigitfajarn!

In the other side, that's types of cups, kegs or big glasses of water can consider like some type of landmarks, it's not that bad but if citizens would drink a lot of soda or beer, hospitals would be full of diabetics (like in Mexico - drinking «Coca-Cola» cause this soda bottles cheaper than water, lol) and chronic alcoholics, but our world still full of they, we can't do nothing about it.

Big Keg of Beer would be some kinda «The Heidelberg Barrel» landmark in Germany, that's kinda fun actually, I can put it around with my Pub or in a center of a village, just some kinda place of interest for citizens, kek.

Also, in game who really cares about health of citizens? But if with the help of these cups, kegs or soda cans I could fill reservoirs for cities's rivers, that's will be kinda fun like pollution of all waters by sewage waste on «Cities Skylines 2» and making money for selling that dirty water, creating on it all systems for maritime communication just in a style of India (at least for Russian urban planning simulator humor vibe, we love that sort of «Kvass» fun).

I also sort of figured out how to use the "count" element. Anyways, you can now get the plug-in zip file down here.

And yes, this is a 2 by 3. Any thoughts or further improvements to be made?

Re: Coffee Galore (Animation Update WIP)

Well, it does work... Just needed to offset it, I guess?
Well, it does work... Just needed to offset it, I guess?
So, I'm currently updating the Coffee Galore plug-in to have a swirling animation inside. And upon further fixing, I may need to redo the first five colored mugs because I messed with the orientation of it during the making of this plug-in.

That only leaves Magenta, Turquoise and Purple as okay to go.

Fortunately, I still have the .psd file where I can simply readjust the coloring, as well as which handle (left or right) should appear. It shouldn't take too much time.

As for the animation, I did two things:
1. Use the Animation Dev Tool by @dnswodn which you can find here: viewtopic.php?p=242142&hilit=Animation#p242142
Basically, I copied from the &quot;Animation List&quot; to copy-paste the coordinates down into the .json... I didn't implement the &quot;handle x&quot; and &quot;handle y&quot; attributes, maybe that's why it ended up looking like the 1st attachment above.<br /><br />Also, how do you use &quot;handle x&quot; and &quot;handle y&quot; that makes it different from x and y?

Also, how do you use "handle x" and "handle y" that makes it different from x and y?
2. Learn how to implement animations from a .json file of a plug-in that has animations. For this one, I found this plugin by a user named Bonum_DiZ from 2024 of a "Russian open-air beerhouse" that has animations. I read the json file and... It's a bit messy, but I managed to piece it together and write my own animation into the plug-in. (Also, I should definitely credit the person that made the plug-in that I ONLY TOOK TO LEARN how animations in the game are implemented into plug-ins... Right?)

The funny thing about the second part is... I didn't even try to install it into my game. I only took how the animation implementation works and, as some would say, "hope for the best." Didn't even think if it will work. (It did, it's just a bit off.)

Here's the update .json in all it's glory and for educational purposes (if you like to implement animations, or even critique me too.)

After many retries, I finally got to implement the water vapor!
As the title of this response says, the Coffee Galore Plugin has finally gained some new animations!

Animations:
- Swirling coffee inside the coffee cup (only the cup, the mug doesn't have any.)
- Water vapor animation implemented (credits to @Lobby and their tutorial on it.)

I'd also like to show my behind the scenes during the update:
Ugh... It's off-center...

Okay, I swear it's not that a lot. It only took about 6 tries for this day.

Also, this update took me at least an hour. Yep, I decided to update this on a random Sunday today (as of posting this.)

Oh, and one more thing: Which manifest thumbnail works best for this?

I'll leave you to it until next time... Might need to implement it's own category within the Water Supply category... And also that feature where you could dial the performance from 0-200%... How to do that though?

So, what do you all think about the water vapor added into this? Anyways, have a nice day ahead, fellow users!

Coffee Galore: The Final Update (For Now)

As the title says, yes... This will be the plug-in's last update... As it will be finalized...

TO BE SENT TO THE PLUG-IN STORE!

Yes, I am now finalizing my silly plug-in. And of course, I'll be adding a proper manifest thumbnail for it too.

Contents

As for the contents of this update, we now have a 1x1 Small Paper Cup!
- Produces 450 liters of coffee for half the price of a Big Coffee Cup/Mug (that's 2500 for initial building costs)
- Monthly cost of 1650 Theons, because pumping warm coffee to a whole neighborhood on a daily basis is... Well, STILL VERY EXPENSIVE.
- Has 4 designs to choose from: Usual, Green, Blue and Yellow.

Final Words
Fig. 2: The perfect shot for a perfect manifest thumbnail... (In my opinion)
Fig. 2: The perfect shot for a perfect manifest thumbnail... (In my opinion)
I may have said that this is the FINAL update for the plug-in... What I should've is: that this will be the last time that I'll add any new stuff to this plug-in. (i.e. No more additional drafts or frames.)

Meaning, I'll still update it when it needs to be updated. Like, lowering the prices or raising the output of "coffee" into this plug-in.

Also, some silly behind-the-scenes for you reading: This plug-in had a custom sound to play when tapped on as you check the information. I even stayed up and auditorily recorded myself pouring hot water into a cup of dried Milo, then clinking a different cup that's (because it didn't sound well for the same cup that I poured in) at 11:30 PM... Three times until a great audio is made. As of writing this... It's close to 1 AM here.

Tried the "on click fun" method, which worked... But not in the way I intended to be. When I click the building, I wanted the sound to play AND have the building's info display too... But it didn't work.

Tried the "sound click" (more specifically, this part here) and copied that solution (which in hindsight, may not be the RIGHT one,) which... Didn't work at all.

And also, that bloated the zip file from 39 KB or something... To 400+ KB... And that's not even including the manifest thumbnail. So, I scrapped it, and now I have an unused and cut down audio recording of myself making Milo and clinking a glass cup.

...What's an optimal size for a manifest thumbnail?

Anyways, that'll be all from me... I should go and get a proper rest now. Take care, fellow citizens!

P.S: I'll leave a status to show you how the plug-in store submission went, will update as soon as possible.

Status: APPROVED!!! (but it doesn't show up on the mobile plug-in store... Yet.)

Hello, I'm back again! Decided to do some technical reworking for this plug-in due to the prices and monthly costs being absurd... Which people complained. My bad, never knew how to use "performance": true until a few days ago.

Here's the JSON, and try to compare it since my initial release of this plug-in.
