The History of Reagold

This will be a long and hopefully informative thread of a fictional past for Reagold. I have been studying history and am especially interested in 20th century modern history and mainly military history. This will also use a map with fictional nations (ones I have made up) and won't include anyone's nations unless they would like me to. Hope you enjoy.
First Settlers 1400BC
The Crestens:
During the bronze age, artefacts from Rathangan Parish in Cahtoohill were found carbon-dated to 1400BC. This is predicted to be the first time man had set foot and settled on Reagold. By this time bronze tools were already in use and proved quite helpful to clear land in the dense forests. The first settlers were called the Crestens.
Oltabens:
The Oltabens were a new race of people originating from Trevis. They came to Reagold in 200BC forcefully taking over from the Crestins who at the time were weak warriors compared to the Oltabens. They soon became the dominant culture and their religion and way of life were used.

- Food
The Crestins hunted animals for meat, gathered berries and also grew crops for food. As time passed more and more people started farming growing crops such as wheat and barley. They used a form of cooking called Heathmonic (Heat stone) where large heated stones were placed in a closed pit of water until the water was at boiling point and the meat could be cooked. - Religious Beliefs
The Crestins believed in a "Overlord" type figure that controlled everything and wanted human sacrifices in exchange for keeping order to the world. Many volunteered as it was thought that volunteering to be a human sacrifice would ensure your family's wellbeing. The Crestins also believed in some form of afterlife. They used two types of tombs, a Megalith with consisted of two large stones supporting a capstone with the person buried underneath aswell as a cist grave. They also included grave goods such as tools, pottery and weapons showing they believed the person would need these goods in the afterlife. - Way of Life
The Crestins used bronze tools but were one of the first cultures to discover and smelt iron. They had clothes made from animal hide which was cleaned and stretched. Their houses used the common wattle and daub method which consisted of a stick frame covered in mud with a thatched roof. Their pastimes included Brack (a type of board game similar to draughts) and telling stories and singing songs.

The Oltabens were a new race of people originating from Trevis. They came to Reagold in 200BC forcefully taking over from the Crestins who at the time were weak warriors compared to the Oltabens. They soon became the dominant culture and their religion and way of life were used.
- Combat
The Oltabens were the first race recorded to have used objects similar to shields for protection such as pieces of wood and metal blocks. Although these weren't proper shields they did provide protection and combined with their ruthless swordsmanship they were fierce warriors. - Religion
Unlike the Crestins, the Oltabens believed in multiple Gods, one for water, fire, earth and air also known as the four elements. They worshipped these Gods and held rituals regularly. They did not believe in an afterlife and used the same burial techniques as the Crestins. - Food
The Oltabens were the first race to grow fruits and they were treated as desserts and were there-fore valuable and also used at rituals. The had a cooking method called Sampire which consisted of using dug-out holes filled with sticks and grass and placing a clay pot over it with the cooking ingredients inside.
