Is it possible to encode updates in lua?

I'm working on a tool for creating flags, and I quickly realized that I couldn't cope without my own interface. But is it possible to do so in order to divide the updates into several parts, in order to reduce the visible number (that is, to create a menu, each button of which will enter the same number of updates)
