No, it's lightening. It's the opposite of darkening.
There is lighting - a source of light, and the verb lighting up, a cigarette.
There is to lighten - to make less dark.
There is lightening - the process of making less dark.
There is lightning - the electricity ftom the sky, which can do or be all of the above.
And, then there is light! Wanna fight?
