American road markings plugin
I am thinking of making a plugin that adds roads with the road markings of roads in the USA. They will not replace any roads, but add two new country roads that function exactly like the original Theotown country road, a four lane road that is very similar to @Mg3094066's "Special/Mexican road", a new expressway, and edited versions of @Chisako's harbor roads.

Re: American road markings plugin
These are the textures for the 2 new country roads, however I would like to save texture space by using only the edited parts as plugin texture space and using frame stealing for the rest of the road textures, since they are exactly the same as the original country roads. Can someone help me do this?

Re: American road markings plugin
I made the unique frame separate from the unedited frames, so I can use frame stealing for the rest of the frames. @-LeoLeo- did something similar in his crosswalk plugin.

I made special traffic lights for these roads, because traffic lights are placed in different locations in the USA than with the original Theotown roads.

Re: American road markings plugin
There is a plugin that has been released on the plugin store very similar to my idea for this plugin. However, it lacks bridges, sidewalks and tunnels.

Re: American road markings plugin
I don't understand why the US road is depicted to have only one solid yellow line.
In the United States, there are TWO yellow lines that separate both directions of travel.
Also, the dashed lines are too many and irregular. To be realistic, I suggest using only ONE dashed line per straight road tile, at a length of SIX pixels.

Re: American road markings plugin
The reasons they have only one stripe because of size and scale, and because it would look weird if they had two big stripes (in my opinion). The dashed lines are like that because it is the way the normal theotown roads are.TiarDVaughn wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 02:57I don't understand why the US road is depicted to have only one solid yellow line.

Re: American road markings plugin
But it is possible to add two solid yellow lines (double solid yellow line) to a road. Look at Mg's Mexican Expressway! Double solid yellow!

Re: American road markings plugin
I just think it looks weird and kind of ugly. Stripes on roads are not that far apart in real life. It also makes the lanes narrower.TiarDVaughn wrote: ↑25 Apr 2019, 05:44But it is possible to add two solid yellow lines (double solid yellow line) to a road. Look at Mg's Mexican Expressway! "Stripes on roads are not that far apart in real life."
YES ...
THEY ...
... ARE! All three of these roads are in America, if fact they are all in Spokane, Washington.
The middle picture is a satellite image of Empire Avenue, a two-lane, two-way road with dashed yellow lines. The other two roads have multiple lanes which are separated by white dashed lines. The white and yellow dashed lines are all the same length AND the same distance apart.
Each dashed line is about 9 feet long and there is usually a 22-foot space between them.
