Huaisheng Mosque, located at No. 56, Guangta Road, Yuexiu District, Guangzhou, China, was first built in the Tang Dynasty. It is the earliest existing mosque in China and even one of the earliest mosques in the world. The Huai Sheng Pagoda in the temple was originally a place for believers to chant sutras. As the pagoda was located by the Pearl River at that time, its lights could guide ships at night, thus it was called the Light Pagoda. The Light Pagoda of Huaisheng Temple is a key national cultural relic protection unit of the People's Republic of China.
