The Palace of the Republic in Berlin, also known as the "People's Palace", was located on Museum Island in the Mitte area of East Berlin, on the site of the former Berlin Palace between the Lustgarten and Schlossplatz, near the West Berlin border. It is a landmark building in East Berlin and one of the landmark buildings of DDR. The Palace was demolished between 2006 and 2008.
