This is the second building of the "Back From 85" Project, which will seek to bring back to life some buildings that disappeared due to the earthquake in Mexico on September 19, 1985. Thank you for your Support!
The Hotel del Prado is one of the 49 most remembered demolished properties in Mexico City. It was an imposing building, located on the central Avenida Juárez, Colonia Centro - Zona Poniente, between the streets of Revillagigedo and Azueta, it had a privileged view of the Alameda Central, which attracted the immediate attention of visitors. In 1985 it collapsed due to the fateful earthquake that Mexico City experienced. The only thing that could be rescued was the Diego Rivera mural that was in the lobby, which allowed the birth of the Diego Rivera Mural Museum.
