Also mix the res and com zones and try to mix ind and com zones. Create a gradient.

Not sure if anyons said this, but you should try making replicas of real life cities, you have a goal to make a city now and you won't really feel like your city sucks if its based on how a real life city looks(at least to me, even though i haven't made a replica of a real life city

but your creativity will end up by searching real life cities... but you can mix real life cities with another cities, it does great. I guess...
